Drug Uses
Flonase is a cortiscosterioid used for seasonal and
perennial allergies (hay fever) and asthma.
General Information
Fir or pine needle oil should not be used with this
medicine if you have asthma. Talk to your doctor BEFORE
using any herbals with this medicine.
How Drug Works
Corticosteroids reduce the inflammation process,
by suppressing the reaction of certain cells.
How Taken
This medicine is generally used once daily. Shake gently
before each dose. For best results, this medicine should
be taken continuously, even if you start feeling better.
Do not skip dosages. Always follow your doctors instructions
on dosing.
Possible Side Effects
Bad smell, taste or nose bleeds.
Warnings/Precautions
Avoid anyone who has chicken pox or measles while taking
this medicine. Patients with compromised immune systems
are at higher risk of infection.
Overdose
For emergencies, seek medical attention immediately.

poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
Drug Interactions
Ketoconazole (Nizoral) and perhaps other AZOLE antifungals
and ritonavir (Norvir) may increase the effects of this
medicine. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist for more
information on drug interactions.
Missed Dose
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it
is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and
go back to your regular schedule. Do not double dosages.
Storage
Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat
and moisture (not in the bathroom). Keep this medication
in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out
of reach of children. Throw away any medication that
is outdated or no longer needed.
Pregnancy/Nursing
If you are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
talk to your doctor about the risk versus the benefits
of taking this medicine during pregnancy. For nursing
mothers, talk to your pediatrician about possible risks
to your baby while breast-feeding with this medicine.
