ACNE TREATMENT IS USED FOR :
Benzoyl peroxide is used to treat mild to moderate acne.
USING ACNE TREATMENT :
Acne Treatment is for topical use on the affected area only. Avoid using this in the eyes, mouth and nose, and on inflamed or damaged skin. The liquid wash or bar soap is used instead of soap once or twice a day. Wet the skin before applying this. Gently work up a lather and rinse thoroughly. Do not scrub the skin. Creams, lotions or gels are usually applied once or twice a day to the affected area. A small amount is applied to the affected area and rubbed in gently. Pads: Wash the affected area of skin with a mild cleanser and water then dry it. Next apply the pad, usually once or twice a day to the skin as directed.
SIDE EFFECTS OF ACNE TREATMENT :
Slight stinging, dryness and peeling may occur initially. Expect this. However, notify your doctor if the following effects occur: redness, irritation, scaly eruptions, rash. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS WHILE TAKING ACNE TREATMENT :
Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: other skin problems, any allergies. Acne Treatment may bleach hair and colored clothing. Avoid contact. Safe use of benzoyl peroxide in children under 12 years old has not been established. Benzoyl peroxide should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if Acne Treatment is excreted into breast milk. Though there have no reports (to date) of harm to nursing infants, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
MEDICATION INTERACTIONS TAKING ACNE TREATMENT :
Tell your doctor of all medicines you may use, both prescription and nonprescription, especially: other skin medicines. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
IF YOU OVERDOSE WITH ACNE TREATMENT :
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Acne Treatment may be harmful if swallowed.
IF YOU MISS A DOSE WITH ACNE TREATMENT :
Use the missed dose as soon as you remember and resume your regular dosing schedule.
HOW TO STORE ACNE TREATMENT :
Store between 59 and 76 degrees F (15 and 24.4 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight.
